Gwynedd Council administrates a grant for community and voluntary groups in Gwynedd.

GWYNEDD WELSH CHURCH ACT FUND

The aim of the Church Fund is to promote and support activities by charities which will benefit the people of Gwynedd and, and enrich the local communities.

Who can apply for the grant?

Any registered charity can apply for this grant from Gwynedd Council’s Church Fund, including:

  • local eisteddfodau
  • fine arts
  • education establishments
  • sport and leisure establishments
  • conservation organisations
  • charities who support sick or disabled people

How much money is available?
A total of £20,000 is available annually. It is possible to apply for any sum of money up to £20,000 although the individual grants usually awarded are between £100 and £1,000

COMMUNITY CHEST GRANT

Community Chest is a Sports Wales Lottery initiative that provides funding for community sport and physical activity. Under new guidelines, the maximum grant awarded has been increased to £1,500.
Community Chest supports any new projects that:-

  • Encourage more people to be active, more often
  • Raises the standard of existing activities
  • Encourages participation in sport and physical activity
  • Encourages lifelong participation in sustainable activity
  • Encourages partnerships with other agencies
